Frequently Asked Questions
Why did my timestamp convert to 1970 or some far-future date?
The usual cause is mixing up seconds and milliseconds. This tool has a unit switch, so make sure your number matches the selected unit before converting.
Is the Date → Timestamp input treated as local time or UTC?
The datetime-local field is interpreted in the browser's local timezone. The tool then shows the resulting Unix seconds, milliseconds, and the equivalent ISO UTC instant.
Can I copy the converted values?
Yes for the Date → Timestamp section, where each result row has its own Copy button. The Timestamp → Human Date cards are display-only.
Does the current timestamp update live?
Yes. The Current Time panel refreshes every second and shows Unix seconds, ISO 8601, and UTC side by side.
What does the timestamp-to-date result include besides the full date?
It shows ISO 8601, UTC, your local date-time, date only, time only, and the day of week for the converted instant.
